Makara

After much persistence by the Vonlichtens, working alongside a multitude of musicians, Makara is available for purchase.

Over two years have passed since the release of Cartographer, and I believe that this new album will win back those not partial to the overly mellow and moody style that the previous album had delivered. Makara captures the epicness of Unearthed, but amping it up even more if that were possible!

The new album can be purchased from CDBaby (as a CD or digital download) or iTunes (digital download only). The official website has been updated and keep a look out for the official Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube profiles.

Late last year, the brothers had stated that they had revisited and altered this release for several years. They eventually cut every tune not up to standard, and the end result is a tight set of fifteen songs; two of them remixes of classical compositions created by Bach and Beethoven hundreds of years ago.

Unfortunately, a few online music stores showcased previews of Makara before the intended release date, which may have ruined the surprise. Compositions of this quality are rarely produced and I am sure that many dedicated epic music listeners would agree that the mystery is spoiled when all is revealed a bit too early.

Enjoy the music and get ready to start counting down the years before we hear anything about a fourth album.

Congratulations to E.S. Posthumus for a job well done!
